The first litter of the year is always extra special.

In the past years it was always the Puget Sound Garter Snake that was the first to give birth, but this year the “honor” goes to Thamnophis scalaris, the Mexican Alpine Blotched Garter Snake.

I was very happy to see several healthy newborn babies crawling through the terrarium on March 6^th 2021.
